Native to the desert regions of Mexico, the Mexican Fan Palm are fast growing palms and one of the easiest palms to grow from seed. Its crown of large bright green, fan-shaped evergreen fronds provide a very tropical appearance to the landscape. Also makes a nice conservatory plant inside when grown in a full sun location. This palm is also very hardy and can withstand several degrees below freezing without appreciable damage. This palm takes drought and poor soil but does grow faster when provided better growing conditions.
Hardy to 18 degrees Fahrenheit, they are fast growers and can eventually grow 80-100 feet but can be maintained much smaller when container grown.
Sowing instructions:
Put the seeds in water for just a day. Plant them 1/4 inch deep and cover the pot with a plastic sheet to keep himidity high. Don't forget to water. Withina week they should spourt. This is a great first stater palm seed. and one of the easist palms to germinate.
